Dear legislators from all over the world

Until now, the structure and expected outcomes of education are prescribed for children and young people. We are disappointed when children lose their inner motivation and education makes no sense to them. We lack confidence in the ability of parents, children and young people to make decisions about their education and to address the consequences of their own decisions.

The need for autonomy, mutual respect and dignity by ourselves and our children are not being met by our current system. As a result we are therefore appealing to you. We wish to change the legislation so that the needs of all stakeholders in education are fulfilled. We want to open a public discussion between children, young people, adults and start negotiations with you on possible solutions.

It is especially important for us to be able to choose our own educational paths and to be able to decide on the creation of conditions for the development of abilities, skills and knowledge. We want everyone to be able to grow up and learn in environments where their needs are met. We want to expand the possibilities of education in the world.

Therefore, we propose to change the legislation so that:

• it enables the existence of current schools and educational programs and at the same time opens the ways for the creation of one’s own diverse educational opportunities.
• school attendance is voluntary and thus provides an opportunity to learn in ways other than school attendance and in the form of individual education.
• alternative schools, educational centres, etc. can be established.
• it makes it possible to offer various social and educational services that would be legitimate and fully-fledged options for schooling and would meet the needs of disadvantaged children and their families.
• it is possible to offer remote, distance and combined study as well as other forms of study at all levels of education.
• the education system is permeable, open and makes it possible to study any school, regardless of age and level of education, as long as individuals meet the school’s admission criteria and study requirements.
• all participants in education are independent of uniform framework educational programs, which would form a non-binding offer.
• everyone has the opportunity to set their own educational goals and forms and methods of evaluating educational results, including the possibility of not being evaluated.
• it enables the creation of individualised criteria for the spatial, material and personnel provision of conditions for education.
• it transforms control organizations into support organizations, whose services will be voluntary and non-binding for schools.

Our goal is to change the legislation of education in the world so as to enable the fulfillment of the needs of all participants in education. We would like to take an active part, open a public debate and start negotiations with you on solutions that will enable this goal to be achieved.
